The Stendker Discus hatchery in Germany started with just four fish in the late 1960's and has grown into Europes and probably the world's largest breeder of Discus.
Apart from a lifelong dedication to Discus they attribute much of their success to the food they feed their fish.
The food is a beef-heart based food with a number of ingredients added to it during the manufacturing process, including shellfish and natural colour enhancers such as Paprika.

The food is sold in 500g slabs and we collect it directly from the hatchery on a regular basis. One slab will feed 8 to 10 medium sized Discus for six weeks.

Break off a piece about the size of a ten pence piece, ensure it defrosts fully. The first thing you will notice is that unlike proprietary brands there is virtually no water, in fact just a small amount of blood. With a spoon or knife scoop a small amount of food and drop it into the aquarium. Your Discus will take the food immediately and will soon associate you standing there as feeding time. They will literally eat it out of your hand.
I feed my fish two or three times a day. Ensure all the food is eaten and if not remove any left after thirty minutes.

As a guide frozen foods upto 2kg are sent Royal Mail Special Delivery and anything over 2kg is sent by Interlink Express couriers. We can ship up to 40 slabs in a single box - please contact me 01323-483689 to discuss this option.

You can combine any frozen products on this site into an over all weight. "Mix and Match" - Next day signed for delivery is expensive, but we only charge you what we are charged ourselves. Needless to say their is no carriage to pay if you collect the food from us.

Stendker Beefheart is sold in 500g slabs which are easy to use on a daily basis and offer excellent value for money.

Carriage of the food from us to you is very important if you are unable to collect it. Because the food is frozen it needs to be sent on a next day signed for service. There is of course a fee for this, which Devotedly Discus passes onto the customer "at cost."
It is important that customers fully understand and accept our terms and conditions when asking us to send frozen food out by Royal Mail / courier. During very warm weather, it is possible that the food (single pack size) may partly or completly defrost during transit, it is sent very well insulated / packed but customers need to be aware of this. 01323-483689 for advice.
