FAQ
Will DD HMA remove nitrate or soften the water ?
No, DD HMA will not remove Nitrate nor will it soften the water. Depending on the cartridge combination you choose the filters will remove Sediment, Chlorine, Chloramines and heavy metals.
Add a pressure vessel with A520 nitrate resin for Nitrate removal.
Is there any waste water ?
No, you can use every drop of water that goes through the filter. However if turned off for a few days it is recommended to flush a few litres through it before collecting the water.
Can I drip the water straight into my aquarium ?
Yes, that's what we do at Devotedly Discus, alternately you can collect it and store it.
Can I use warm water ?
Yes you can, so long as it does not exceed 40-C Click here for details
Is HMA essential for keeping Discus ?
No, not essential (removing Chlorine, Chloramines and metals is) but you will find once set up it is convenient, efficient, cost effective and simple. You will literally see the difference it makes to fish, any fish.
DD HMA filters are expensive
Indeed compared to the "box movers" they are, but when you research the quality of components used, the amount of water produced between cartridge change outs, the cost per 100 litres from a DD HMA filter is minuscule.
